Using Your Funded Hours at Kids at Heart
Childcare funding can feel complex, with different entitlements and rules to navigate. Our approach is fully compliant with North Yorkshire Council and designed to keep everything clear, fair, and easy to understand. Whether your child is entitled to 15 or 30 funded hours, these hours are allocated during term time only, across 38 weeks of the year, in line with funding guidance. We apply the funded hours across those 38 weeks, then combine this with any privately paid care used during the remaining weeks of the year. From this, we calculate a simple monthly amount, so you always know what to expect.
All invoicing is managed through Famly, giving you full visibility and control. You can view invoices on your phone, see a clear breakdown of funded and paid hours, link your account to Tax-Free Childcare, and set up direct debits if you wish. We can also share multiple months of invoices in advance, helping you plan your finances with confidence and no surprises.
15 hours funding (Full Year)
The 15 funded hours are applied as 3x 5 hour sessions per week during term time. Outside of term time, these same 3 sessions are chargeable and invoiced monthly based on the actual hours used. This ensures funding is applied accurately and transparently, with everything clearly calculated and managed through Famly.

15 hours funding can be used across 3 AM or PM sessions during term time only. This covers your child’s place with no additional charge for these funded sessions.
