Every Child’s Best Start

At Kids at Heart Nursery, we believe every child deserves the very best start in life, whatever their needs, strengths, or way of communicating. Inclusion is central to our ethos and underpins everything we do. We take time to understand each child as an individual, creating a nurturing environment where they feel safe, respected, and supported to develop at their own pace. Through thoughtful, personalised support, we build confidence, encourage independence, and inspire a lasting love of learning, ensuring every child has the opportunity to flourish.

How we keep in touch

Language Rich Daily Practice

Communication is woven through everything we do. Practitioners model clear language, introduce new vocabulary through play and routines, and create frequent opportunities for conversation, songs, stories, and shared thinking throughout the day.

Makaton and Signing Support

Many of our practitioners use Makaton signs and symbols to support communication, making interactions more accessible and reducing frustration. Signing is used throughout the day to promote understanding, confidence and expression.

Autism Support Strategies

We have strong experience supporting autistic children and use structured, research-backed methods to help with communication, sensory regulation, transitions, routines and emotional understanding. Visual timetables, personalised sensory strategies and targeted communication tools are all part of our offer.

Observation Led Support

Practitioners use ongoing observation to understand each child’s communication style, interests, and needs. This allows support to be responsive, personalised, and adjusted as children grow and develop.
